Do This to Increase Your Tip Average
You ask if you can get the people more coffee. A lot of times especially during evening service people are not in such a hurry to leave. One cup usually isn't enough. It goes down pretty quick.
If they say yes you probably just upped your tip percentage. If they say no they will probably just ask for the bill. This is a sign your job is completely done.
There is nothing worse than serving coffee and you think your table is done. They sit there for 20 minutes. You think they are finished but really they are waiting for you to come over and ask if anyone would like more coffee.
Worse still is when you present the bill and someone ask for more coffee. This makes you look like an idiot because you did not finish the service and you are asking for payment. There goes some of your tip.
So don't forget offer more coffee while you are clearing desserts. At least do it once and if they take more go back again and offer more until they do not want another refill.
This is a sure fire way to get rid of campers as well.
