Days Off

Last week I had 3 in a row off and it felt like I was off a month. This week I was off yesterday and back today then off tomorrow then I work 4 consecutive nights.

I don't know about you but I sometimes prefer my days off to be split up because I feel sharper after just one day off. When I have a few off in a row when I return it's like I am really searching to get ready for my shift. Mentally I am not quite as into it.

What about you? Do you like your days off to be split up or do you like them all in a row? I would make the exception of course for vacations and other occasions but in the middle of winter I like them split up.

Yeah, this last week I had work one day, the next off, work, off, etc. and I liked that.

TOTALLY need them split up by a day, MAYBE two. But you could not be more right - no matter how long I've served, if I'm off for 3 days, I feel totally new. Mentally LOST, even sometimes nervous to get a table! It's ridiculous! I have to dig and dig for motivation on that first day back.

Nice post, glad I'm not the only one!

Hey Waiter E,

I#d rather have my freeeee days (yay!) in a row. But that's just because I generally have problems relaxing. When I do not work, my body's at home doing the dishes or watching friends on streaming the internet, but my mind is still serving people.

Yes, I do get "The Dream" frequently!

Afer-shift-Gimlet now. Cheers!

It depends if I have plans or not. If I have nothing serious to take care of then split days are ideal. If, like this week I needed to go down to the Valley then I like them to be in a row. I do feel fuzzy and strange after a couple days off in a row.

AZWaitress...I like it too especially in the winter time.

A Nova Server...very similar to how I get. It is like you got to feel easy again about where you work.

Megaphon...my problem is I get too relaxed and then have to get myself ready for when I get back.

Confessions of a Waitress....you get the fuzzy feeling too after a couple of days. If I am going somewhere for sure it is better to have at least two off in a row I agree.

I'm working 6 days in a row at the moment and it's started to bug me.

I get that really short fused feeling when I work too many days in a row. I am better after that one day off. You do feel sharper and refreshed to deal with all the work again.

There some changes at our restaurant, so I might even started having two days off instead from next month. Now that would be nice.

Caz...6 days in a row you need two off to get recharged. When you little and then you get a bunch in a row off it is not good for me. It is like I never work. Plus the money starts running out..
