Wow!

Last night I returned to work after a couple of days off and saw a waiter I hadn't seen in over a week. I figured that he took a few days off or we were just working opposite shifts so I asked him what he was up to.

He just returned from being suspended because a customer complained by sending an email to head office 30 days after they had ate at the restaurant.

Wow is all I can say. Imagine 30 days!

These are the type of people that can bury a restaurant/hotel and the server. If a customer has had a bad experience, tell the manager right there and then and we may have a change to make ti right. But to wait 30 days then send a letter or email...then you're doomed.

Banquet Manager...oh for sure. I don't know what the complaint was about but you know to hold onto something like that then send a complaint in my gosh what personal issues this person must have had. It is like comparing that to being beaten up when you were a kid. Now that is hard to forget but a meal in a restaurant and hold it for 30 days...You know what I mean? A lot more important things happen in a person's life during 30 days more pressing. lol That is what surprises me.

I seriously had to read that twice to make sure I was reading it correctly. 30 days? Was this customer kidding? Damn [excuse me] but to let that fest for AN ENTIRE MONTH and then notify your bosses? What a sad life that customer leads. I can't even imagine.

What the F.... How do you let this happen? Can a letter that is a month after the event get you suspended? I had a letter of complaint that the chef used his fingers and should have gloves and never use the same spoon. FRO is what I say, watch some more housewife TV and become more anal. Anyway sorry to rant a bit but it's just not right. What rights to we have!!

Chef's kitchen rant...I am right with you. Apparently this waiter who is a good one did not replace a steak that was overcooked and they decided to complain a month later. No back up from management where I work at all. Which explains my the host is right post. Just feelings of a bit insecurity.
