Here Is The Tuesday Quiz

Okay I have done the dishes and made the little guy's lunch and now it is time for the quiz. Good luck!

1. In the Beaujolais wine region of France what is the dominant grape variety?

2. Galliano is of what flavour?

3. Which grape variety needs a longer growing season , Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon?

4. What type of oven does a cook use to flash something or quickly brown a dish just before serving?

5. What country did the Mint Julep cocktail originate?

Much easier I would think. How did you do on this one?

Good Morning, Steven;

Another Excellent Quiz! Here are my answers

1. In the Beaujolais wine region of France what is the dominant grape variety?
A: The Gamay varietal is the most prevalent in the Beaujolais region.

2. Galliano is of what flavour?
A: Anise and Vanilla

3. Which grape variety needs a longer growing season , Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon?
A: The Cabernet Sauvignon grape generally requires about two more weeks to reach its peak than the Merlot varietal

4. What type of oven does a cook use to flash something or quickly brown a dish just before serving?
A: Hmmm... I'm going to go with "Convection" here, but I'm not sure...

5. What country did the Mint Julep cocktail originate?
A: The Mint Julep is attributed to the USA, specifically Virginia. The Colonists had to do something to make Bourbon a respectable drink for the morning...

George...all right except for one. Nice to see you back this week.Hope it is going well. Galliano is the vanilla but have a bottle with me and cannot see anise.Hey maybe I am wrong.

1) The dominant grape is the bo-jo-lay grape.
2) Vanilla and Galli's. The little Galli's are the best.
3)Goofy Grape requires the longest season. Right behind that is rootin' tootin' Raspberry.
4) An Overhead Broiler Oven or Salamander is what I'm most familiar with. Only worked one place with the Overhead and I hated it.

5) I'll say Kentucky, where my greatX4 Grandfather Obidiah Julep Bulletholes used to put a sprig of mint in with his Bourbon just to fool Julep (his wife) into thinkin' it were tea.

This week was easier and much more fun!
